working groups

PAGES science structure is divided into Foci and Cross-Cutting Themes. Each of the Foci is divided into a number of Foci Themes, the goals of which are addressed by Working Groups that target specific aspects of the scientific scope with activities and programs. Current Working Groups include:

Focus 1: Climate Forcings
- PACOS (Paleo-Constraints on Sea-Level Change)
- Global Palaeofire Working Group (GPWG)

Focus 2: Regional Climate Dynamics
- CACHE-PEP
- LOTRED-SA (Long-Term Climate Reconstruction and Dynamics of S. America)
- LOTRED-Europe (Long-Term Climate Reconstruction and Dynamics of S. America)
- PAGES/MedCLIVAR (Mediterranean Climate Variability and Predictability)
- Aus2k (Australian climate during the last two millennia)
- Arctic2k (Arctic climate during the last two millennia)
- Asia2k (Asian climate during the last two millennia)
- N. America2k (N. American climate during the last two millennia)
- PR Challenge

Focus 3: Global Earth-System Dynamics
- Global Monsoon
- BIPOMAC (Bipolar Climate Machinery)
- PIGS (Past Interglacials)
- Ocean Acidification

Focus 4: Human-Climate-Ecosystem Interactions
- HITE (Human Impacts on Terrestrial Ecosystems)
- LUCIFS (Land Use and Climate Impacts on Fluvial Systems)
- LIMPACS (Human Impacts on Lake Ecosystems)
